Seasonality can play a role in these environments, and data entry functions must be easy to use and secure. Systems generally consist of multiple profit centers with multiple simultaneous users. Strong profit center reporting, timely perpetual inventory information and accurate order forecasting is critical to these organizations. In many cases, they also have fairly significant IT departments and require strong networking capabilities from their system providers.
